Tales of Old Dakota, a new book bv Tom Kilian, director of ACCSD's Rural Initiative Center, is a collection of 23 short accounts describing historic incidents and sites in South Dakota which are unknown to most readers.  Much of the book contains new material that has never been published before.  Each of the 23 chapters is a self-contained story.  The book, printed by Pine Hill Press,  has 196 pages and over 20 photos taken in the field.

Kilian has many years experience in South Dakota history and preservation, having served as president of the South Dakota State Historical Society, the S. D. Heritage Fund, The Center for Western Studies at Augustana College, the Minnehaha County Historical Society and other preservation groups.


The book sells for $12, plus $2 shipping and handling, and is available at the following stores:
