Preamble

WHEREAS, the providence of God offers us in our time a singular opportunity to manifest more fully our shared faith and oneness in Jesus Christ as our divine Lord and Savior, according to the Scriptures, we, the undersigned autonomous Christian Churches, do covenant to form an inclusive, representative association to be known as the Association of Christian Churches of South Dakota.

Basic to the understanding of each and every provision of our Constitution and Bylaws is our common understanding of the following:

1. This Association respects the complete autonomy of its members so that neither its structure nor activities bespeak a "super church."

2. Responsibility for all programs and activities not unanimously approved shall be attributed to the involved participants rather than to the Association.
