3.1.1 To provide an umbrella structure or organization under which Christians may identify with one another as fellow members of the Body of Christ and may cooperate with one another in Christian love; and

      3.1.2 To effect closer fellowship and increased cooperation among Christians in South Dakota; and

      3.1.3 To better serve the needs of participating communions and/or their members; and

      3.1.4 To strengthen the spiritual life and witness of all Christians in the State; and

      3.1.5 To help effect cooperation in every way possible among denominations, individual congregations, and all members of the Body of Christ, toward more effective utilization of spiritual, human, and material resources; and

     3.1.6 To assist denominations, individual congregations, and persons to respond more effectively to the changing needs and trends in our modern world; and

     3.1.7 To sponsor dialogue, forums, discussion groups, and whatever else furthers ecumenical understanding and development.
